Chris Biddulph

Chris Biddulph is Director of Trend Technologies NZ Limited, and is also the lead IT Consultant for The Biddulph Group.

The Biddulph Group

The Biddulph Group provides professional services in the fields of Education, Information Technology and Human Rights. The Biddulph Group has provided consultancy services and/or educational resources to organisations such as the Ministry of Education, Learning Media Ltd and Wendy Pye Ltd (International Publishing Consultant/Book Publisher).

Industry Experience

Areas where Chris Biddulph has particular strengths and experience include:

  • Web Application Development e.g. (i) developed an ASP.NET-based web site and online survey for the Children's Rights Project (a project co-ordinated by the Children's Issues Centre, University of Otago, on behalf of the Commissioner for Children and the Human Rights Commission); (ii) developed the original Action for Children and Youth Aotearoa web site; (iii) developed a web site for an EDS Service Level Agreement Reporting Project.
  • Content Management Systems e.g. extensive knowledge of Content Management Systems (utilising technologies such as Microsoft .NET).
  • Project Management e.g. EDS Project Manager with responsibility for an Enterprise Management reporting solution on the Telecom NZ Account. Telecom pursuit and subsequent Account work involved: investigations; solution architecture; resourcing/costing; due diligence; extensive planning with high complexity; and managing a team of people in geographically diverse areas.
  • Research e.g. (i) conducted various investigations on behalf of EDS NZ Technical Services while in the USA; (ii) contracted (as Partner in The Biddulph Group) to produce a Best Evidence Synthesis for the New Zealand Ministry of Education.
  • Analysis e.g. (i) business and systems analysis undertaken in the development of an automated Service Level Agreement reporting solution for many EDS customers; (ii) undertook quantitative analysis of survey data as part of the Children's Rights Project (contributing to the Children's Rights section of the NZ Action Plan on Human Rights).
  • Data Warehousing and Reporting e.g. involved in the development of an automated solution for reporting service delivery performance (in areas such as Customer Relationship Management and Systems Management) for many EDS customers.
  • IT Security e.g. considerable knowledge of Web application security, including best practices.
  • Technical Support e.g. (i) a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer; (ii) provided third level support at EDS (applications and systems support in multiple environments); (iii) provided fulltime IT support at the University of Waikato.

Voluntary Work

Voluntary work Chris Biddulph has been involved in includes:

  • the development of a web site for Action for Children and Youth Aotearoa. (ACYA is a not-for-profit organisation which seeks to promote the wellbeing of children and youth.)
  • assisting a branch of the Citizens' Advice Bureau, specifically organising IT training and providing advice on PC purchasing.
  • providing technical support to many teachers, teacher educators, university lecturers and students.
